This internship offers clinical exposure that is genuinely hard to find. A high-volume hospital environment treating some of the world’s most rarely seen species, combined with direct surgical experience through the PAT Clinic rotation.

By the end of your placement you’ll have gained experience in:

• Wildlife triage and trauma care — responding to newly rescued and injured animals in a live hospital setting
• Surgical assistance — supporting sterile procedures ranging from routine care to complex species-specific operations
• Diagnostic skills — developing clinical insight into species-specific assessment and rehabilitation planning
• Diverse caseload — exposure to rare procedures including primate vasectomies and cataract surgery in bears
• Southeast Asian wildlife medicine — deepening your understanding of regional species and conservation health challenges
• Professional network building — connecting with experienced wildlife veterinarians and international peers
• High-volume surgical experience — an opportunity for direct clinical roles at the PAT Clinic using modern anaesthetic and minimally invasive techniques

On successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate of completion alongside on-site mentoring support for any academic projects or credit requirements.

Please note: direct invasive duties within the wildlife hospital – such as medication administration or sample collection – may be observational in nature, though direct clinical roles are actively encouraged at the PAT Clinic.
